Committees
Each committee aims to inspire delegates to find resolutions to these pressing issues. Background Guides are your starting place for committee.
General Assembly One
ECOSOC: Brain Drain
The Brain Drain crisis is reshaping the global landscape. Doctors, engineers, scientists, and academics are leaving developing nations for wealthier countries in search of stability, higher wages, and better opportunities. While industrialized states benefit, poorer nations are left with weakened healthcare, stalled innovation, and deepening inequality.
Whether it’s students who never return after studying abroad or rural professionals migrating to big cities, Brain Drain raises urgent questions: should talent flow freely across borders, or does the international community have a duty to protect vulnerable states from losing their brightest minds? For delegates, this issue is more than migration—it is about equity, sovereignty, and global sustainability. Joining this committee means tackling one of the toughest dilemmas of our era: how to balance open exchange with the need to build strong, self-reliant nations.

General Assembly Two
UNEP: Regulating the Global Fast Fashion Industry
The fast fashion industry has revolutionized clothing by making it cheap, trendy, and widely accessible—but at an enormous cost. Behind the racks of low-priced garments lies one of the world’s most polluting industries, responsible for massive carbon emissions, toxic water pollution from textile dyeing, and mountains of waste that clog landfills. At the same time, fast fashion’s supply chains often rely on exploitative labor practices in developing countries, raising serious ethical concerns.
For the international community, the challenge is clear: how can we reduce the environmental destruction of fast fashion without ignoring its role in trade, jobs, and economic growth? Should global standards be established to hold companies accountable? Can consumers be guided toward sustainable choices, or should governments regulate the industry directly?

The Security Council of Panem: The Mockingjay's Rebellion
After grueling months of fighting for the end of the Hunger Games and for a change in Panem, the fight is finally over with the rebels standing victorious—or so everyone thinks at first. But when peace is finally thought to have come over Panem, a new challenge arises: what now? The fight against the Capitol is over, but the unity that had once carried the rebellion is beginning to wear. The districts, no longer focused on the same common enemy, all seek different visions for a new and improved Panem: some push for military strength, others for strict centralization, and still others for a representative democracy. The future stands uncertain, and now it’s up to you, delegates, to decide what Panem becomes.

2050 UN Space Council: Implications of Planetary Defense Against Extraterrestrial Beings
On August 12, 2025, multiple governments confirmed the presence of extraterrestrial spacecraft within Earth's atmosphere. Initial sightings occurred near major population centers, with simultaneous detections recorded by international radar and satellite networks. While the origins and intentions of these beings remain unclear, their technology surpasses anything currently known to humanity. The Security Council convenes in an emergency session to address this unprecedented crisis. The challenge is twofold: ensuring planetary security in the face of a potentially hostile power, while considering the rights and ethical treatment of extraterrestrial beings should peaceful interaction be possible.

UNHCR: Syrian Women Refugee Crisis
The ongoing Syrian Civil War has forced millions to flee their homes, with women and children being the most vulnerable to violence, exploitation, and neglect. Syrian women in refugee camps face compounded challenges, from sexual violence and early marriage to lack of access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. This committee will focus on how the international community can come together to address these issues while empowering displaced women and ensuring their safety, dignity, and rights. In this crisis committee, delegates will engage in debate and negotiations to create innovative solutions that empower women, advance gender equality, and provide safe spaces where women refugees can recover, learn, and thrive. The goal is to ensure that Syrian women are not just survivors but leaders in their own recovery.
