About HCMUNC
The Howard County Model United Nations Conference (HCMUNC) is an exciting event organized by the Mount Hebron High School Model United Nations Club. Our conference aims to provide both new and returning students with a platform to actively engage in debates, improve their public speaking skills, and explore international affairs.

First hosting HebMUNC in 2017, the Mount Hebron High School Model United Nations Club restarted our annual conference in 2022 after shutting down for the Covid-19 Pandemic. Previous years' HebMUNC and HCMUNC were great conferences, that cemented a lasting template for organizing, hosting, and operating a multi-level regional conference. This year, at HCMUNC 2024, we hope to expand this template with more committees, more delegates, and more opportunities for all, new or seasoned, to participate, learn, and have fun.

At HCMUNC, participants will have the opportunity to apply their academic and social skills in a variety of situations. Whether you're a future diplomat, lawyer, economist, historian, or just want a fun community, Model UN offers a unique and exciting space to improve your communication skills while tackling pressing global issues and developing innovative solutions. The conference encourages creative thinking, effective communication, and collaborative problem-solving.

This HCMUNC, as an early conference of the increasing filled MUN field, we want to prioritize learning and fun. We want to create a relaxing, yet exciting ramp to get into or back into the Model United Nations environment for all delegates. In this spirit, we are committed to providing many resources for first-time delegates so they may navigate the thrilling, yet complex, world that is MUN. Along with this commitment to lower the barriers to entry for prospective delegates, we also want to do away with the annoyances that inhabit most other conferences, as such, position papers are not required to win awards, and we will have no guest speaker. We have taken these steps, along with many others to craft HCMUNC into a competitive, constructive, and fun conference, open to all delegates, from the newest, to the most experienced.
